How much I love Dyl pickles...

This blog is for my son Dylan (Dyl) who was Dx was Asperger's (PDD-NOS) at age 8 (2006) after nearly 5 years of seeking a Dx. I am a busy mom of 8 kids, but while my time is limited, I never stop trying to learn more and help and encourage others along the way who are also on this journey called Autism. Asperger's is a high functioning form of autism which while good in many ways versus other forms of autism, at times can hinder my son's progress and help because to the untrained eye he seems like a normal kid with some major behavioral issues. From the time he was a little over a year he has been a huge challenge in the behavior department. Unfortunately it wasn't until later in his life I was able to see that he was not the *typical boy* the world renowed pediatrician at Indianapolis's childrens hospital has told me he was who simply had a mommy who needed a time out. Since the Dx I have given as much of my time as I could to trying to help him, and it is my hope that through this others can understand and maybe even be helped themselves if they are traveling the same road.
